Daily Ortho-K Care

Daily Ortho-K Care Checklist

  • Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before handling lenses.
  • Use only the cleaning, disinfection and storage products prescribed for your lenses.
  • Keep lenses and the case away from tap water, swimming water and saliva.
  • Clean, disinfect and replace the lens case as instructed by your practitioner.
  • Follow your individual overnight wearing schedule; do not lend or share lenses.
  • Inspect lenses for damage and contact the practice if a lens is chipped, lost or uncomfortable.
  • Check vision and comfort each morning, and report a change rather than simply continuing wear.
  • Remove lenses and seek urgent advice for pain, redness, light sensitivity or reduced vision.
  • Attend scheduled reviews and bring your lenses, case and current care products when requested.
  • Support a child’s routine with supervision, outdoor activity and regular breaks from prolonged close work.

Use this checklist alongside the lens-care instructions supplied by your practitioner. It does not replace hands-on training or a personalised wearing schedule.

Your Ortho-K questions answered

What should I do if an eye becomes painful or red?

Remove the lenses and seek urgent eye care, especially with light sensitivity or reduced vision. Do not resume wear until your practitioner advises that it is safe.

Can I change my lens routine myself?

Do not change solutions, wearing schedules or cleaning methods without advice. Contact the practice if instructions are unclear or the routine becomes difficult to follow.
